How To Setup Wi-Fi Proxy on Android
It is so sorry to say that, honestly Android doesn’t have this feature. You cannot apply proxy to Wi-Fi with Android OS. Still wonder how Google missed it. But we never disappoint you. As long as we are smart to make it happen, nothing becomes impossible.
OK, this is how we do it.
Download Opera Mobile (not to be confused with Opera Mini) browser to your Android device from Android Market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.opera.browser
Launch Opera Mobile from your Android device.
Type opera:config in the address bar.
Opera's hidden Preference Editor will be opened.
Now find Proxy section of the Preference editor and expand it. (Just click on proxy to expand its settings)
Edit HTTP server and HTTPS server with your proxy address and the proxy port.
Ex: If your proxy server is proxy.server.com and proxy port is 8080 then you should enter proxy.server.com:8080
(Proxy server and proxy port should be entered respectively separated by a colon)
Now click Save.
You are done.
PS: If you have already rooted your phone, there are many other solutions out there. But remember rooting your phone simply voids its warrenty. Above method can be used even you haven't rooted your Android device so that it is much safer for a beginner.
There's a new post answering this question in a different way. With Android 4 and up you can do this. Please check it.
